The transition from open data to open government can often be a slow process in countries without a history of healthy civic engagement. As a response to this challenge, Internews and the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine joined their efforts in helping local municipalities present budgets in a user-friendly format.
The Internews Center for Innovation & Learning believes in pushing the limits by thinking outside of the box. Our Innovation Advisors work with Internews field offices and communities in Africa, Asia, Europe & Eurasia, and the Middle East & North Africa to develop pilot projects that explore new technologies and tools that allow citizens, journalists, online activists and policymakers to better understand and apply data, to gain access to more or better information, and to communicate more effectively with each other.
